Barrier Removal

The STDP recognizes the unique barriers that justice-involved and at-risk individuals encounter when seeking employment. These may include criminal records, limited education, or a lack of work experience. The initiative works tirelessly to address these barriers, offering support such as legal assistance, educational opportunities, and hands-on training.

Sustainable Career Development

The ultimate goal is not just to secure immediate employment but to pave the way for sustainable career development. Participants are encouraged to set long-term career goals, and the STDP provides ongoing support to help them achieve these objectives. This includes assistance with career planning, job placements, and access to resources for personal and professional growth.

Empowerment

The core mission of the STDP is to empower individuals. This empowerment extends beyond merely providing them with job opportunities; it encompasses building their confidence, equipping them with essential life skills, and fostering a sense of self-worth. The STDP believes that true transformation begins with the individual's belief in their ability to succeed.

  • Interview

    Week 1

The initial phase of the CAF commences with a preliminary phone interview. This is followed by a comprehensive in-person interview designed to explore the candidate's qualifications and compatibility in greater detail. Concurrently, we perform thorough background checks and reference verifications to ensure the candidate's reliability and integrity. Additionally, we conduct risk assessments to evaluate potential security or compliance issues associated with the candidate. This multi-tiered approach ensures a robust evaluation process, essential for maintaining high standards within our program.

  • Mentoring

    4  weeks

Revolutionary coaching and immersive mentorship program, harnessing time-tested strategies from the realms of entrepreneurship and the lessons passed down through generations of wealthy families. Our approach draws inspiration from ancient wisdom, which serves as the cornerstone of our program, guiding participants on a transformative journey toward securing their place within the Canadian middle class through opportunities in the skilled trades.

  • Employment Preparation

This next phase involves continuous mentoring, where we offer personalized guidance and support to ensure clients are fully prepared for job searches and employment challenges. Additionally, we provide comprehensive assistance with resume writing, helping clients to effectively showcase their  skills and experiences in a professional format. We also conduct interview preparation sessions, which include mock interviews and feedback, equipping our clients with the confidence and techniques needed to excel during real job interviews. These efforts are aimed at smoothing the pathway to employment, enhancing job prospects, and ultimately supporting our clients in securing meaningful employment in their trained fields.

  • CAF Application

Upon successful completion of employment preparation, the collaboration between training partners and the Skilled Trades Development Program (STDP) advances to the critical phase of employment placement. Leveraging our comprehensive network of industry connections and partnerships within both the STDP and the Canadian Armed Forces, we actively engage in securing practorships for our participants. These practorships, which provide essential practical work experience, are meticulously aligned with each participant’s skills and career goals. Our targeted placement strategy ensures that participants are introduced to opportunities that complement their newly acquired skills, facilitating a seamless transition into the workforce. Through these efforts, we aim to enhance employment rates among our graduates and make a significant contribution to their professional development and career success.
